FAIRMOUNT AVE FORWARD
A STRATEGY TO UNIFY + BEAUTIFY FAIRMOUNT AVENUE
THE PLAN
Formerly "Lighter Quicker Cheaper Fairmount Avenue" the Fairmount Ave Forward plan is the result of a year-long engagement process challenging stakeholders to develop affordable solutions to unify and beautify Fairmount Avenue that can be implemented quickly and with little red tape.
The suggestions include experimental, temporary and artistic interventions to further position Fairmount Avenue as a destination arts and culture corridor. Projects will be implemented based on a community support score and availability of funding. Along the way, each project will present a new opportunity for stakeholders to engage in conversation on the use of public space and our built environment.
The plan is designed to be a living - breathing document. As circumstances and priorities shift, the plan can respond. As such, we have kept online comments open (below) for continued feedback.
Thank you to all of our volunteers, experts and cheerleaders for their commitment to strengthening the commercial backbone of the Fairmount, Francsiville and Spring Garden neighborhoods!
CONCEPTS
In January 2018, Fairmount CDC's Planning + Research Committee, used the plan detailed above to develop conceptual designs on the collective impact these interventions could make along Fairmount Avenue. Note, these designs are strictly conceptual in nature, and will hopefully spark imagination and additional ideas / resources for fully realizing the Fairmount Avenue Forward recommendations. Take a look at the concepts below, and share you feedback in the forum below or by contacting Fairmount CDC directly.
