Our neighborhood has everything you need!


Fairmount businesses between 20th and 21st Streets are hosting a Winter Stroll this Friday from 4-7 in the evening to share treats and cheer while celebrating our community.


December 14 is Second Saturday in BrewerytownStop by the Holiday Market from noon to 4pm at 915 N 28th St. to shop with local vendors. Then walk Girard Avenue for special deals from community businesses, including $8 caramel chocolate eclair apples and $5 cookie decorating kits! Details at fairmountcdc.org/secondsaturday


Looking for a gift idea? There are limited copies remaining of our anniversary artwork celebrating the neighborhood! You can purchase online now or at the Second Saturday market this weekend.


 

There's lots more happening beyond the markets:


  • Girl Holding a Pen has a bunch of events this week! The Charm Bar is tonight from 5-8pm, and their Pop Up Party is December 15 from 12-3pm with hot chocolate bar, ornament making, and letters to Santa. They are also collecting toys and hygiene products for Eastern State Penitentiary’s holiday drive. 

  • Philadelphia Museum of Art has a special winter Pop-Up Studio and DJ this Friday from 5pm while Fairmount Tavern's Swiftmas Party is the same night at 9pm.

  • Action Karate Fairmount has free community karate classes this Friday for ages 3+.

  • Lemon Hill Mansion's Winter Around the World event is hosting food vendors from FDR Park's popular Southeast Asian Market (and Santa Claus from 10am-noon) on Saturday.

  • Redemption City Church Pop-Up Shop is December 14 from 11-2pm featuring items from a variety of local small businesses.

  • Aiyah Art Market Holiday Edition will be December 14 from 11-5pm with an amazing lineup of artists, vendors, homemade pastries, and live music in their holiday-themed secret garden.

  • Spring Garden Civic is hosting their annual Wreath Workshop at 11am December 14.

  • The Monkey & The Elephant's Art Opening: “Shattered Embraces” by Mia’Rlin aka Malayah Reynolds will open December 15, from 1-3 PM and run until January 11, 2025.

  • Brewerytown Sharswood CCA has a Holiday Gathering on December 17 from 4pm at Vaux High School.

  • Libertee Grounds has a Christmas Movie Night planned for December 18 at 7pm. 

  • Athletic Rec Center's Holiday Dinner is December 20 (and you can contribute to their toy drive until December 16!)
