Neighborhood News and Notes

Hope everyone enjoyed a great Fourth of July earlier this month, National Ice Cream Day at all of our community ice cream outlets last week, and is looking forward to a great weekend in the neighborhood. There's lots of local business news to share!

Each Friday in July there's a free one-hour yoga practice at Eastern State Penitentiary led by Yoga 4 Philly - a Black-led nonprofit dedicated to making peace, love, and healing accessible to everyone through trauma-informed, donation-based yoga and meditation. Find more details and register at this link.

Blkberry Juice Bar on 29th Street is celebrating National Mango Day this Saturday with several smoothie specials.

Stop by Libertee Grounds from 9pm tomorrow - Friday, July 21 - join the watch party for USA's first game in the Women's World Cup!

Happy Birthday to Over the Moon Ice Cream! Help them celebrate by signing up to help with their co-sponsored neighborhood cleanup on Saturday, July 29th from 9-11am. Free ice cream for all volunteers! Sign up here.

Congrats to Made with Love Juicery on their move to 1925 Fairmount Avenue, and to four news businesses on West Girard Avenue - Journey 2 Healing Spa, Above and Beyond Early Learners Academy, St. Francis Family Medical Clinic, and Decision's Hair Studio - on their openings, as well as the re-opening of Brewerytown Bakery! Lastly, don't miss this article on the unique connection between last week's Beyonce performance in Philadelphia, and Fairmount-based artist Abby Misbin!
