We have lots of neighborhood business news to share.


We want to welcome Wise & Well Therapy to Girard Avenue, led by Elena Wise, a grief and trauma therapist who works with kids, teens and adults. 



 

Stone's Beer and Beverage celebrated their grand re-opening on Fairmount Avenue. 


 

Sorellina, the pizza-centered sister restaurant to Cicala at Broad and Fairmount has announced their opening for June 26. 



Horticulture, at 3145 W Jefferson Street, is celebrating their first anniversary with a pop-up event this Saturday, June 15.


 

While Fairmount Bicycles just completed 14 years in business, and was recently profiled by 6ABC!

 

Smith Memorial Playground, and their iconic wooden slide, enjoyed a role on Abbott Elementary (check out this shout out from Quinta Brunson).



 

A few local burger specialists, Spot Burger on Girard and Cousin's Burger in Francisville, shared about the business behind their craft in this Inquirer article. 



 

Eastern State Penitentiary's new "Summer Nights" series is running through July, exploring the "impact of art, sports, and recreation on prison life," and featuring food vendors and Triple Bottom Brewing in the Fair Chance Beer Garden.


 

While we were sad to learn about the closing of OCF Coffee House, our neighborhood directory features several nearby businesses that specialize in coffee and community. If you're looking for a place to work or take meetings, Coffee Cream & Dreams and 15th and Fairmount is made for you!

The Philadelphia Museum of Art's Pride Month celebration is tonight - Friday, June 14.


 

Starting this Sunday, SEPTA's eight 1947-restored trolleys will be running route 15 along Girard Avenue again, after several years out of service.

 

The Philadelphia Phillies are hosting a FREE youth clinic for children ages 4-14 this Sunday, June 16, from 1-3 pm at Athletic Rec (27th and Jefferson). Give & Go Athletics will lead its weekly free "Bagels & Baseball" drop-in program from noon-1 pm, with free breakfast and coaching; no experience or equipment required. 


 

Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site is commemorating Juneteenth - next Wednesday, June 19 - with a live performance of "Unshackled" by The Black Breath Collective, family-friendly storytelling by Thembi Palmer, and a panel discussion; virtual admission is free and in-person admission is discounted.


 

Thursday, June 20 is the first of Fairmount CDC's Sidewalk Social summer events - enjoy food, music, and community alongside neighborhood vendors and businesses at 27th and Girard in Brewerytown.

 

Finally, Parks on Tap - Philadelphia's traveling beer garden - returns to Lemon Hill Mansion next week, from June 19-23. There's additional exciting news coming soon from Lemon Hill - look for more next week!


 

Kidchella, the kids music festival at Smith Memorial Playground is next Friday, June 21 from 4-9pm; register for tickets at this link.
