We Stand in Solidarity with the Black Community

Updated: Jun 6, 2020

On behalf of everyone at the Fairmount CDC, we publicly and explicitly condemn racism. We stand in solidarity with the entire black community. We are listening and showing our support in tangible ways. We resolve to examine our work, policies, practices, and community relations and correct any iniquities that may exist. As the local Community Development Corporation running the Greater Art Museum Business Alliance, the biggest role we play in the neighborhood is to support the local business community, including the black-owned businesses who are integral to the vitality and beauty of our neighborhood.

We also acknowledge that we have more work to do to make sure that we are reaching ALL black-owned businesses who have historically not received the same level of support from our organization. We WILL work harder to reach business owners with whom we are not yet connected. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, we have been raising and distributing money to local businesses and will continue to use our resources to support black-owned businesses and any businesses who have been damaged due to looting. Please patronize the black-owned businesses right here in our neighborhood. If there is a business not on this list, please email sblair@fairmountcdc.org so we can support them, too.
