This month’s GAMBA business spotlight features Waterworks Cider and Beer Garden, located at 640 Waterworks Drive, bringing locally brewed cider and beer to the Philadelphia area!
Tell us about your business
We are an alcoholic cider and beer garden. We sell various ciders as well as beer. We also have 2 flavors of canned wine and seltzer options. The Waterworks Cider & Beer Garden is a great place to hang out by the water and relax with a good drink. We have board games, corn hole, ladder toss and free popcorn! There is also a food truck available, as well as desserts supplied by the Cosmic Cafe. We will be open until the end of October. Our hours of operation are Thursday and Friday 4 to 10pm, Saturday 12 to 10pm, and Sunday 12 to 9pm.
What makes you stand out?
Our location is in a tremendous spot. We are a 2-minute walk From the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We sell great ciders and beer at a price people can afford and always offer free popcorn.
What current offerings would catch our eye?!
We offer free samples for those that are unsure of what they like. We are currently brainstorming fun event ideas...trivia night, cornhole tournament, pet adoption day, and karaoke night are possibilites. Stay tuned for event announcements!
Why do you love working in the Art Museum District?!
We love working in the Art Museum District because it is a beautiful location filled with many different types of individuals. It is always a good time seeing people enjoy what we have to offer.
Tell us about your founders. What was the inspiration for opening the business?
Our founder, Peg Botto, recognized how much people loved Parks On Tap in this location, so we decided it would be a good idea to start a similar business to continue the fun. Peg is the owner of the Cosmic Cafe, a 3-minute walk from the Waterworks Cider & Beer Garden. She does a lot for the community and started a program called the Cosmic Foundation that gives disabled individuals a chance to learn valuable life skills that help them in their everyday tasks. With every beverage sold at the Waterworks Cider & Beer Garden, a percentage of sales goes towards the Cosmic Foundation.
