We've got lots of exciting neighborhood business news to share from July and August. Zorba's on Fairmount Avenue topped this list of "Must-Try Greek Restaurants in Philadelphia" while there were shoutouts for for Doma, 1822 Callowhill, Umai Umai on 22nd and Dasiwa on 26th in Philadelphia Magazine's guide on "Where to Eat Sushi in Philadelphia." Brewerytown Food Hall was written up for their "new Barbie Dream cocktail," nearby lifestyle brand Live Breathe Futbol has big news in their 10th year in business, and Bold Coffee Bar celebrated their 3rd anniversary!

There are several community events happening this week and weekend:
Libertee Grounds is hosting special events on Wednesday and Thursday this week, visit their Instagram for more on their beer dinner and night market!
This Friday, August 18, from 11am-3pm is Family Fun Day at historic Laurel Hill Mansion in East Fairmount Park, featuring ASAP Chess and ASAP Scrabble. That evening is the final night for Laurel Hill's outdoor cinema series + their "pop-up Witches' Market starting at 7pm."
Saturday, August 19 there's a free concert at 4pm in the Brewerytown Garden, 27th and Master. From 5pm to 10pm, the same day, check out the Now + Then Marketplace x Oval Finale Market on the Parkway.
Sunday, August 20 bring your own snacks, blankets, and chairs to enjoy an afternoon of Jazz at Girard Collegefrom 4pm to 6pm with the Mervin Toussaint Trio.
Sound Space Performing Arts children's program enrollment ends August 23, and neighnors can learn more here.
They also have a tuition-free program that runs the entire school year called the Philadelphia Youth Tap Exchange. Children must attend the audition to participate. No dance experience is required. Learn more.
Lastly - looking ahead - the next Second Saturday on Girard Avenue will be September 9th! The PHL 24-hour stairclimb on the "Rocky" steps to support Legacy of Hope is September 9 and 10. The 12th annual Boxers' Trail 5K run/walk is Saturday, September 16 and supports youth programming in Strawberry Mansion! Girard College's Beyond the Wall 5K Run/Walk & Community Day is Sunday, October 1. And the Breakout 5k and Kids Fun Run benefiting Friends of Eastern State Penitentiary Park is Saturday, October 7.
