September Community Digest

Summer is ending? We're just getting started! There are two great community events to enjoy in the next 10 days - the Eagles' Kelly Green Block Party on Fairmount Avenue - Thursday, August 31 - and Second Saturday on Girard Avenue next weekend, September 9. Invite your friends, meet your neighbors, stroll the avenues and enjoy all the great local businesses that make the Art Museum District unique.

We have two announcements! Meredith Ellison has joined Fairmount CDC as our new Community Business Advocate, helping network and support our local business-owners. We're excited for you all to meet Meredith over the next few days and weeks.

We are also looking forward to the Taste of Fairmount - our annual neighborhood showcase and fundraiser will be returning on Thursday, November 16. Save the date, and click for more on sponsoring and participating in the event.

Join us in wishing a Happy Birthday to Harper's Ice Cream! On Saturday, September 2nd, Harper's turns one, and they're celebrating with free ice cream. Join them in celebration at 2827 W Girard Ave. Mention this anniversary email for a FREE small soft serve! Limit one per person.

Lastly, we are recruiting for our next PhillyiHub entrepreneur cohort, a FREE program starting in late September. Sign up now! PhillyiHub is a six-week class helping new and aspiring business-owners turn their ideas into action.

Second Saturday

Save the date: September 9th and plan to join us for Second Saturday on Girard Avenue. Full lineup coming soon!

New Business on Girard Avenue

Bella Ballerina Dance Academy is coming to 2511 - 2515 Girard Avenue! They have dance, acting and musical theater classes for everyone! Join them for their grand re-opening September 3rd from 12-2pm!
